LAVAL, QC, April 14 /CNW/ - A&W Food Services of Canada Inc. today
announced that Luc and Ginette Lauzon of Laval, Quebec are the winners of the
2007 A&W President's Award. The couple also received this prestigious award
last year, one of the very few restaurants to be honoured in consecutive
years.
The President's Award was established in 1977 and is the highest honour
given to an A&W restaurant. Laval was chosen from A&W's more than 680 Canadian
restaurants.
"Our dedicated staff was determined to repeat the achievement of last
year and they succeeded," says Luc Lauzon, A&W franchisee. "My wife and I are
proud of our team and will continue to provide the exemplary service and
delicious A&W Teen Burgers that our customers expect."
The Lauzons also won the Bronze Award of Excellence for Operating
Standards in 2005. The restaurant employs 35 people and has been a member of
the Laval community for seven years.
"Luc and Ginette personify the qualities that A&W values in customer
service and operations. Delivering A&W's great tasting burgers is very
important to A&W and the Laval restaurant has again set the bar for quality,"
said Paul Hollands, President and Chief Executive Officer of A&W Food Services
of Canada Inc.
A&W's President's Award review process is extensive. Once a short list of
candidates has met the qualifying criteria, Regional Managers visit and
evaluate each restaurant unannounced, to determine a list of three finalists.
A four-person review panel, headed by Paul Hollands, then visits each
restaurant to determine the winner, with restaurants judged on criteria
including customer service and business success.
