Canada's 2nd largest burger restaurant continues tremendous growth
MONTRÉAL, Nov. 22, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - A&W Food Services of Canada Inc. is celebrating the opening of its 800th restaurant in Canada. Located in downtown Montréal at 655 President-Kennedy Avenue, near McGill University, the new restaurant opened its doors to welcome burger lovers yesterday.
"With 34 new restaurants across the country in 2013, and over 70 openings in the past two years, we are pleased with A&W's rapid expansion," says Paul Hollands, President and CEO of A&W Food Services of Canada Inc. "Day after day, the entire A&W team is committed to offering our guests an exceptional experience, and serving a delicious menu featuring the classic Teen Burger®, the most famous member of the iconic Burger Family®. Today, we are thrilled to open our 800th restaurant in the country, and our 6th urban concept restaurant in downtown Montréal, and we are looking forward to a continued high pace of expansion."
A sustained expansion in Québec
With more than 100 restaurants in Québec and nearly 200 in Ontario, the
nationwide burger restaurant once again confirms its aggressive
expansion strategy. The chain's rapid growth in the province and across
the country can be attributed to the quality of its products, a solid
development plan, its innovative urban concept, and a great team of
passionate franchisees and corporate staff.
"Since the opening of our 100th restaurant in Québec last March, A&W has continued its expansion in the province. In fact, over the last few months, we have opened five new restaurants in Berthierville, Notre-dame-des-Prairies, Donnacona, Beauport and Montréal (Côte-Vertu Blvd.). Another restaurant is expected to open its doors in Longueuil by the end of 2013," says Susan Senecal, Chief Marketing Officer, A&W Food Services of Canada Inc.
A&W's great-tasting burgers now even better
In September, A&W announced that it would now only serve beef raised
without any added steroids or hormones, and containing no preservatives
or additives. "I am thrilled to be part of this major shift and to
offer Quebecers real great-tasting burgers," says Carl Souillat,
franchise owner of the country's 800th A&W restaurant, located in Montréal.
