VANCOUVER, Aug. 18, 2015 /CNW/ - A&W Food Services of Canada Inc. (A&W Food Services) announced today several management changes. The first is that Paul Hollands, who is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of A&W Food Services, has been appointed Chair and Chief Executive Officer. The current Chair, Jeff Mooney, will continue to serve as Chairman Emeritus and a Director of A&W Food Services, and he will also remain as a director of A&W Trade Marks Inc. Mr. Hollands will also continue to hold his position as Chief Executive Officer of A&W Revenue Royalties Income Fund (the Fund) (TSX symbol AW.UN).
At the same time, Susan Senecal has been promoted to the newly created position of President and Chief Operating Officer of A&W Food Services. Ms. Senecal has 23 years' experience with the company, most recently as Chief Marketing Officer. This appointment recognizes Ms. Senecal's experience in all areas of the business including marketing, operations, franchising and real estate.
A&W Food Services is the second largest quick-service hamburger restaurant chain in Canada with over $1 Billion in sales and over 830 restaurants from coast-to-coast. A&W restaurants feature famous trade-marked menu items such as The Burger Family®, Chubby Chicken® and A&W Root Beer®. A&W Food Services licenses the A&W trade-marks from the Fund, who through its investment in A&W Trade Marks Inc., is entitled to receive royalties from A&W Food Services in the amount of 3% of the sales of the A&W restaurants in the Royalty Pool. Cash distributions to the Fund's unitholders are paid monthly.
